Dr. Kevin Maguire

BDS | Founder | Principal Dentist

Dr. Kevin Maguire has been active in general dentistry since graduating from Wits University in Johannesburg 1988. He spent four years in a busy practice in the United Kingdom before returning to South Africa and settling in Umhlanga.

Besides general dentistry, Dr Maguire has completed numerous postgraduate courses, and continues to attain more qualifications for implant dentistry and cosmetic enhancement dentistry.
He was appointed by the British Consulate as the dentist “on call” for the Royal Family during their visit to Durban. His excellent chair side manner ensures that nervous patients and children feel as comfortable as possible when requiring a dental treatment. Dr. Maguire is available to see patients at both the Umhlanga and Ballito practices.

Dr Maguire is a family man and has two children.

Dr. Dorien De Sousa

BChD | Dentist

Dr. De Sousa spent her high school years at the American International School in Abu Dhabi. She studied engineering for 6 months in Canada, before having the opportunity to pursue her lifelong passion to study dentistry. She obtained a degree in Dentistry at the University of Pretoria.

She has special interest in Aesthetics and Restorative dentistry. She has furthered her knowledge in these fields through the attendance of multiple dental courses and conferences. She also loves working with children. Building their trust and developing a healthy dentist relationship with them is her passion. At this time, she has developed a special interest in orthodontics and is working towards furthering her knowledge in this field. She is fluent in English and Afrikaans. Dr. Dorien is a mother of a little boy and spends most of her free time with her family. He is a busy baby and keeps her active. She loves the outdoors and travelling.

Dr Lee-Ann McEwen

BChD

Dr Lee-Ann McEwen is a proud BChD graduate of the University of Stellenbosch. Her passions lie in aesthetic dentistry, but she enjoys all aspects of the dental profession. She has spent many years honing her skills and learning invaluable knowledge from her colleagues. These are furthered through her attendance of as many conferences and training courses as she can find time for, staying abreast with the latest developments and techniques. Paediatric dentistry is a particular interest of hers, specifically Myobrace.

Any additional time is spent with her 2 beautiful daughters, her family and friends. She enjoys many outdoor activities, is an avid trail runner and practices yoga and pilates. She is grateful to be in a position to do something she loves every day, helping people enjoy their best smile.

Melinda Williams

Oral Hygienist
Melinda Williams qualified as an Oral Hygienist at the University of Pretoria (1988). Starting off in a General and Periodontal Practice she enjoyed helping periodontal patients with their regular maintenance programs. Moving to the North Coast in 1993 she helped Implant and Periodontal patients at a Prostodontic Practice which prompted her to do the expanded functions course in 2003. Her love for children and an interest in aesthetic dentistry led to further studies so that she may administer local anaesthetic and do small restorations. She concentrates on education and prevention as well as early diagnosis. Educating parents and children therefore making their dental appointments stress free and fun. She concentrates on a holistic approach to maintaining oral health and general wellbeing. Her belief that beauty comes from within and reflects outwardly in a beautiful smile has brought about her philosophy of helping patients achieve this by incorporating Teeth Whitening as part of her oral hygiene protocol with amazing results.
